Polemonium vanbruntiae is a perennial herb to 1 m tall, erect, upper internodes elongate. 

Leaves alternate, pinnately compound, leaflets 7-17, narrow, 2-4 cm long, tips pointed. 

Flowers blue, regular, to 2 cm long, 5 petal lobes, stamens longer than funnel-shaped petal tube. 

Wetland status: FACW. 

Frequency in NYC: NYS Rare, G3, S3, T. Possibly still at one location. 

Origin: Native. 

Habitat: Wet woods, swamps, stream banks.
