Gnaphalium uliginosum is an annual herb, 5-25 cm tall, densely white wooly, diffusely branching.
Leaves alternate, narrow, to 4 cm long, 0.5 cm wide, slightly wooly.
Flowers whitish, no rays only tips showing at top of head amid papery bracts, heads brown, rounded, bud-like, bracteate base 0.2-0.3 cm long, in terminal and axillary clusters, shorter than leaves.
Wetland status: UPL.
Frequency in NYC: Very infrequent.
Origin: Europe.
Habitat: Open areas, on fill.
