Euphorbia is a genus of herbs (ours), sap irritating, often milky (Kingsbury 1964). 

Leaves diverse. 

Flowers mostly yellow to green, no petals or sepals; in tight clusters with male (staminate) flowers, consisting of a single stamen, surrounding a single female (pistillate) flower; the cluster of individual flowers above 4-5 petal-like bracts. 

Fruit dry, a 3-parted capsule, usually with one seed per compartment. 

Notes: Most are weedy, some invasive, most are toxic.
